I just wanted you to know, my sister Jenny passed away on Tuesday night. She'd been fighting ALS for 5 years. I was there for the end, and that's a very profound and moving event, believe me. It is a blessing that she is finally released from her struggle.

Perhaps I'm old and tired, but I think that the chances of finding out what's actually going on are so absurdly remote that the only thing to do is to say, "Hang the sense of it," and keep yourself busy. I'd much rather be happy than right any day.

And yes, my life is very much like this at the moment, wonderful, beautiful, painful, lonely and sad. I wish we could go out for a coffee.
